Simple, Complex, Easy, Hard
Something simple and easy: Washing a car.
Something simple and hard: Pushing a car.
Something complex and easy: Driving a car.
Something complex and hard: Building a car.
So what is Christianity? Simple and easy? Simple and hard? Complex and easy? Complex and hard?
Have you found it to be different than most people say?

Do you think it could be a balance? Christianity can be hard, easy, simple, and complex at the same time. Not a balance we can create but one that we can find only through one Person.
I'm not surprised that there is a lack of responses to this blog question. It's a tough one and it almost feels like a trap, but I'll take my chances.
I find it to be "simple and hard" most of the time. I chose simple over complex because I don't find that it takes a lot of studying, brain storming, or any other sort of intellectual great effort in order to follow Jesus and live a life according to God's commandments. Living in Christ is having Christ in you and he tells us quite regularly what we should and shouldn't do when decisions arise. And listening isn't hard. But, I also chose hard over easy, simply because despite the path being pretty well lit there are a lot of forces out there that sway us away from the direction that we should go.
This may seem like a cop out but it can be all of them individually and all of them at once.
I would hands down say it is simple (not complex) but it is very hard (not easy). I’ve actually had this exact conversation before and the gospel is a simple message of love. Yeah the bible is immensely deep and complex full of shadows and types, unexplainable events and miracles, and complicated prophesies but Jesus, He’s simple, with all the power and might in the universe he choose not to have it his way but to be the loving servant of all. Asks us simply to believe in him and follow his pattern of living. SIMPLE! But oh so hard, loving the way Christ loves is where the rubber meets the road and that’s where a Christians walk pans out and it is NO EASY THING!
I just caught the last question: "Have you found it to be different than most people say?"
So you are looking for comparative forms of those adjectives.
Yes. It is different than what I originally thought and heard. It is more simple it terms of my mission - not about a bunch of rules but several important principles to implement. It is more complex in that it is not a simple minded religion but something that touches every area of live and brings it to life. It is more easy in that it is exactly what I am made to do. It is harder in that its not some religion that asks something of me but asks everything of me.
Ryan, I have been waiting for your answer.
All the answers I've read here are very insightful (and much more thorough than I expected.) I can relate to all of them, and I can't say that I'd be able to add to them.
Thanks everybody!
