The Counter Revolution
Jesus Takes on the Hard Issues
A Message Series by Pastor Ryan Wiksell
January 18 - March 1 (Volume 2)
"My ways are higher than your ways,
and my thoughts are higher than your thoughts."
-God speaking to Isaiah (paraphrased) - Isaiah 55:9
Every day it's the same thing: thousands of reporters, producers, columnists, advertisers, teachers, bloggers, politicians, pundits, preachers, activists, entertainers and know-it-all teenagers are trying to influence your opinions on the issues.
But God is not found in the noise, in the chaos. He does not buy airtime to get your attention, or call a press conference to make his case. He is so often found in the quiet whisper, gently urging you to remember that he is the one who made it all, and he's got it under control.
So what does God think about the hot-button topics? What would Jesus do in a coffeehouse debate that threatens schism over half-caf chai lattes? Better yet, what would he do to bring resolution and peace to a catastrophic world?
I'm glad you asked.
