Event Rental

Front Porch Event Rental

The Front Porch is a 2500 square foot Community Venue at 310 South Avenue, the epicenter of Springfield’s urban cultural renaissance, and is surrounded by dozens of galleries, restaurants and clubs. It is well-decorated and artistic, yet eclectic and funky. It features a 1250 square foot café area, a 250 square foot stage, a 180 square foot conference room (also called the Green Room), a 90 square foot kids’ room, two bathrooms, complete handicap accessibility (no stairs whatsoever), a well-appointed coffee bar and media center (see below), front and rear entrances, and a private parking lot adjoining the space (see below). All spaces in the building are available for rental with the exception of the office, and closet spaces. The café can seat 75 comfortably, with a maximum capacity of 100. The Green Room can seat up to 12 people, and the Kids’ Room has space for three children and one adult.

Opportunities

The Front Porch is a perfect location for events, weddings, receptions, meetings, parties, workshops, conferences, etc. It is a comfortable and affordable place where you can be “in the center of it all.”

Packages*

Complete Package – This provides access to the Café area, the Conference (Green) Room, the Kid’s Room, and the stage. The hourly fee is $50, and a $300 deposit is required.**

Café Package – This provides access to the Café area, and stage only. The hourly fee is $40, and a $200 deposit is required.**

Green Package – This provides access to the Green Room and Kids’ Room only. The hourly fee is $15, and a $100 deposit is required.

*All reservations must be scheduled so as to avoid conflict with Front Porch sponsored events. Events exceeding 4 hours are eligible for a discounted rate. Increased deposits may be required of larger groups. A minimum of 2 hours may be required for events scheduled during hours the Front Porch is normally closed.

** The Complete Package, and the Café Package may request setup for up to four microphones at no extra charge. Event organizers will then be instructed how to adjust levels as needed.

Media Center & Coffee Bar

The Media Center / Coffee Bar area is not available to guests or organizers of events, unless such arrangements can be made. However, a Media Specialist or Barista can be rented for your event for only $20/hr each. A Barista is one who is experienced with the Front Porch’s coffee bar, and can serve any of our standard beverages to guests. The cost of drinks served may be subtracted from the deductible. A Media Specialist is one who is knowledgable about sound and projection technology, and can assist in either of these areas, if advanced notice is given about the Event Organizer’s needs. The rental of a Media Specialist would include the use of the Front Porch’s computer and complete sound system. If the Event Organizer wishes to bring a laptop to run his or her own presentation, arrangements can be made for a flat fee of only $20 to use the Front Porch’s projector and screen.

Responsibilities

Event Organizers may bring in additional furniture, equipment and catering, but will be responsible to return the Front Porch to its original state, including vacuuming and other basic clean-up. Any work that is left for the Front Porch staff to do will be subtracted from the deductible at a rate of $20 per man-hour.

Although the Front Porch welcomes people to gather at the Front Porch from all backgrounds and belief systems, an arrangement to provide rental space to any group does not amount to an endorsement of that group’s agenda or ideology. We also reserve the right to deny rental to those whose purposes are directly contrary to those of the Front Porch.

Parking

A private parking lot adjoins the back door of the Front Porch. Arrangements may be made to provide convenient parking for your guests at no cost to them.

Join the Team

The Front Porch is run by The Core Fellowship, a new Springfield church. The Core community consists of Family Members, and Team Members. Whether you know it or not, you are already a Family Member, and thus you are welcome among us at any time. However, if you find yourself in agreement with The Core’s vision, you may decide to become a Team Member, and commit yourself to helping make that vision a reality. By becoming a Team Member of The Core, you are eligible to use The Front Porch free of charge for any event or gathering that is compatible with The Core’s mission.
